About The Position

Supporting the Platforms and Data Delivery teams within Capital Markets Finance, the student will support process improvement initiatives within Capital Markets Finance Platforms teams, leveraging artificial intelligence tools such as Copilot. The role involves gathering business requirements, documenting business procedures and process flows, and executing testing for new solutions as part of the Software Development Life Cycle. The student will also monitor processing on mission critical applications, analyze issues ensuring that root causes and resolutions are sufficiently documented, and help assess and configure core applications to enable better risk monitoring, alert setup, and user onboarding. Collaboration on ad hoc assignments and projects to deliver value to stakeholders across OMERS is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree specializing in Accounting/Finance, Computer Science, or Data Analytics
Strong interest in pursuing a career in Capital Markets or FinTech
An understanding of investment products including bonds, equities, derivatives, and alternative investments
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Analytical, organized, and great attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work well with others
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
Experience with data engineering tools (e.g., SQL, Python, PowerBI)
