About The Position

Study of models and approaches in early childhood education. Study of child development and transitions to school life. Analysis of the relationships between different stakeholders (family, daycare, and school). Examination of policies, curriculum, and educational approaches that promote child development in a pluralistic minority context.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education required; preference will be given to a Ph.D. in education.
  • At least one of the following: Recent full-time teaching experience in a school or administration within a school board, including 2 years of implementation of the Ontario curriculum for the course subject with a specialist qualification for the course subject OR Current and refereed research record for the course subject OR Recent Ph.D. comprehensive examination for the course subject.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum related to the course subject and Ontario Ministry of Education documents related to the course subject.
  • Proven ability to apply the Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics of the Ontario College of Teachers.
  • The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those mentioned above.
  • Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
