About The Position

Study of the didactics of reading, writing, and oral communication in grades 1 to 3. Introduction to the concept of literacy. Examination of teaching strategies that promote French language learning while supporting students and valuing their linguistic and cultural diversity. Critical study of the French framework curriculum. Experimentation with various teaching methods, including the use of children's literature and technologies. Integration of Indigenous literacy. Development of varied pedagogical interventions.

Requirements

Master's degree in Education required; a doctorate in Education will be given preference.
At least one of the following: Recent full-time teaching experience in a school or administration within a school board, including 2 years of implementation of the Ontario curriculum for the course subject with a specialist qualification for the course subject.
Current and peer-reviewed research record in the course subject.
Recent comprehensive examination (Ph.D.) in the course subject.
Demonstrated knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum related to the course subject and Ontario Ministry of Education documents related to the course subject.
Proven ability to apply the Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics of the Ontario College of Teachers.
The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those mentioned above.
