About The Position

The School of Political Studies within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Student Part-Time Professor for Comparative Politics: Africa (POL3144, Section A00) for the 2027 Winter Semester. This course will offer a comparative study of political processes and institutions and their relationship with culture and society in different African countries, considering national and/or regional particularities. The course will be delivered online in a scheduled, synchronous format with live instruction. The University offers training in online course delivery, and the teaching method may be modified due to public health measures or other reasons. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, with priority given to Canadians and permanent residents. Requirements

Ph.D. or Ph.D. coursework in the field of Comparative Politics: Africa.
Teaching experience in the field.
This course is intended for PhD students.
Demonstrate knowledge of the topic of this course in a letter of intent (considered).
Submit information describing previous training or experience with teaching if never taught at the University of Ottawa (CV or separate document).
Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
