About The Position

The University of Ottawa is seeking a Student Part-Time Professor for the course POL3110 - Non-Western Political Thought during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course will study non-Western political thought (e.g., in Asia, Africa, the Muslim world), analyzing critical non-Western political thought, including anti-colonialism, post-colonialism, critique of liberalism, and neotraditionalism. The course is intended for PhD students and will be offered in person. Teaching methods may be modified due to public health measures or other reasons. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Ph.D. coursework in the field of Non-Western Political Thought.
  • Teaching experience in the field.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the topic of this course (a letter of intent is considered but not mandatory).
  • Provide information on previous training or experience with teaching if never taught at the University of Ottawa.
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
