About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach ECH4350 A00, Conflicts and the Peace Process in the Middle East, during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course examines the history of conflicts in the modern Middle East, from the late 19th century to the present, analyzing the causes and consequences of major wars within their local, regional, and international contexts. It also studies the ideologies that have shaped these conflicts, such as Zionism and various nationalisms. Requirements

  • PhD completed or in the process of being completed with a specialization in conflict studies and human rights.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Competence in a second language (French) is active.
  • All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
  • Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

Responsibilities
