About The Position

The University of Ottawa is seeking a Student Part-Time Professor for the GRT 2100 - Psychosocial Aspects of Aging course during the Winter 2027 semester. This course will explore theories and models of aging and retirement, the social construction of aging, the impact of gender, ethnicity, and race, and issues related to death and dying. It will also examine the implications for individuals, their families, and caregivers. The course will be offered remotely and is scheduled for Tuesdays from 13:00 to 14:30 and Thursdays from 11:30 to 13:00. Requirements

  • PhD completed or in progress in social sciences with a specialization in gerontology OR MA with five years’ experience in the field of gerontology.
  • Teaching experience in gerontology is an asset.
  • Competence in a second language is passive.
  • Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
