About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Economics at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Introduction to Macroeconomics (ECO-1102, Section E00) during the Winter 2027 semester. This course covers topics such as macro versus microeconomics, national accounting, aggregate demand, national income determination, business cycles, fiscal policy, money and monetary policy, the banking system, unemployment and inflation, stabilization policy controversies, and Canadian macroeconomic policy. The expected enrollment is 244 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The language of instruction is English.

Requirements

Master's degree in Economics.
Demonstrate recent professional experience as an economist in the area of the course in the public, para-public or private sectors.
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

Responsibilities

Teach Introduction to Macroeconomics (ECO-1102, Section E00)
Deliver lectures on topics including macro versus microeconomics, national accounting, aggregate demand, national income determination, business cycles, fiscal policy, money and monetary policy, the banking system, unemployment and inflation, stabilization policy controversies, and Canadian macroeconomic policy.
Adhere to the course schedule: Wednesdays 13:00-14:30 and Fridays 11:30-13:00.
Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
