About The Position

This posting is for an APTPUO Student - ESP3991 B - AUT/FALL 2026 position in the Faculty of Arts, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. The course is Advanced Spanish I (ESP3991 Section B), focusing on complex Spanish grammar, intensive written and spoken practice, composition and conversation exercises, oral presentations, and analysis of selected texts. The position is limited to a Student Part-Time Professor. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The hourly rate for language courses is $203.54 (2024-2025), excluding vacation and statutory pay, and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retroactive pay will be provided after ratification. The course is a regular posting, taught in Spanish/Other (as per course description), requiring active competence in the second language. The schedule includes Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:30 to 19:00. This is an in-person mode position.

Requirements

  • Holder of an M.A. in Spanish and registered full time in the Doctorate Program.
  • Native or near-native speaker (C2) of Spanish.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
  • Competence and experience for teaching Spanish ELE: B2/C1 grammar, culture and literature of Hispanic countries, composition, and didactics of ELE.
  • Expertise in teaching hybrid courses (Brightspace, Blackboard and other technologies of virtual teaching).
  • Class management and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work in teams.
