About The Position

This position is for a Student Part-Time Professor to teach the Cross-Cultural Management course (ADM3319B) during the Fall 2026 academic period at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. The course focuses on diagnosing intercultural situations in international contexts, exploring theoretical aspects from various disciplines related to comparative management. Key concepts include culture, values, behavior, intercultural communication, and their impact on management dynamics, organizational structure, human resources, technology transfer, and ethics. It also covers intercultural teams, the profile of an interculturally effective person, feminine entrepreneurship in international management, monographs on socio-political situations and business cultures of various countries, and Canadian diversity in relation to the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, multiculturalism legislation, and policies. Acculturation is also a topic. The teaching method will be delivered in person, though this may change due to health measures or other reasons. Requirements

  • Must have an MBA or Master's degree (PhD preferred) in cross-cultural management, organizational behavior, or organizational psychology.
  • Must demonstrate recent professional experience in one or more of these areas.
  • Must have teaching experience, preferably in the area of the course.
  • Competence in a second language is passive.
  • Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the Cross-Cultural Management course (ADM3319B) in person.
  • Deliver lectures and facilitate discussions on topics related to intercultural management.
  • Assess student learning through assignments, exams, and other evaluation methods.
  • Provide guidance and support to students.
  • Potentially adapt teaching methods due to health measures or other reasons.
