About The Position

This posting is for a Student Part-Time Professor for the course POL3178 - Canadian Foreign Policy and North American Relations during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course will study the main constitutional and institutional frameworks, forces, and factors influencing Canadian foreign policy, Canada's role in international organizations (NATO, UN, Francophonie), and Canada's relations with North American governments and social/economic actors (Mexico and USA). Major issues in North American politics, including trade agreements, continental security, democracy, and the possibility of a North American political community, will also be covered. The course is intended for PhD students and will be offered in person, though the teaching method may be modified due to public health measures or other reasons. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Ph.D. course work in the field of the above course.
  • Teaching experience in the field.
  • This course is intended for PhD students.
  • Candidates are encouraged to clearly indicate their qualifications and skills in their CV.
  • Candidates who have never taught a course at the University of Ottawa are recommended to submit information describing their previous training or experience with teaching (article 10.9.2).
  • All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
