About The Position

The role of an academic tutor for student-athletes is pivotal in ensuring the holistic development and success of student-athletes both on and off the field. This position entails providing academic support and guidance to student-athletes to help them excel academically while balancing the demands of their athletic commitments.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions to student-athletes in various subjects, including but not limited to mathematics, sciences, humanities, and languages.
• Assist student-athletes in developing effective study habits, time management skills, and organizational strategies to enhance their academic performance.
• Aid student-athletes in understanding course materials, assignments, and concepts by breaking down complex topics into manageable components.
• Assist with test preparation strategies, including practice exams, review sessions, and test-taking techniques tailored to individual learning styles.
• Offer guidance on writing skills, including essay structure, research methods, and proofreading to help student-athletes improve their writing proficiency.
• Track and monitor the academic progress of student-athletes, communicate regularly with academic advisors to address any concerns, and submit session reports on time.
• Connect student-athletes with additional academic resources, such as tutoring centers, writing labs, and academic workshops, to support their educational goals.
• Ensure adherence to NCAA academic eligibility requirements and regulations governing academic support services for student-athletes.
