About The Position

UPMC’s Student Nurse Internship (SNI) program is a temporary, 10-week paid opportunity during the Summer of 2027. This program allows nursing students to apply their academic learning in a practical setting by working alongside a preceptor. Interns will gain hands-on experience, participate in educational sessions, build confidence, and network with nursing leadership. The program also offers opportunities to shadow other nursing areas, apply for Graduate Nurse positions, and contribute to the community and patient care. Interns will be assigned to one hospital for the summer, with potential for shadowing at another area. While the program generally operates up to 40 hours per week, flexibility is available to accommodate school schedules.
