About The Position

UPMC’s Student Nurse Internship (SNI) program is a temporary, 10-week paid opportunity during the Summer of 2027. This program allows students to apply their education in practice by working alongside a preceptor. Interns will have the chance to experience a day in the life of a nurse, participate in educational sessions, build confidence, and network with nursing leadership. The program also offers opportunities to apply for Graduate Nurse positions before the internship concludes and to contribute to the community and patient care. Interns will be assigned to one hospital for the summer and may shadow at least one additional nursing area. While the program is up to 40 hours/week, flexibility can be accommodated for those with other obligations.
