About The Position

UPMC’s Student Nurse Internship (SNI) program is a temporary, 10-week paid opportunity during the Summer of 2027. This program allows students to apply their education by working alongside a preceptor, gaining hands-on experience in a day-to-day nursing role at UPMC. Interns will participate in supplementary educational sessions, build confidence, and have the chance to shadow other nursing areas within their assigned hospital. They will work up to 40 hours per week, with flexibility for non-full-time schedules. The program also offers opportunities to network with UPMC Nursing Leadership, receive mentorship, give back to the community, and apply for system-wide Graduate Nurse opportunities before the internship concludes.
