About The Position

UPMC’s Student Nurse Internship (SNI) program is a temporary, 10-week paid opportunity during the Summer of 2027. This program allows students to apply their education in practice by working alongside a preceptor. Interns will have the chance to experience a day in the life of a nurse at UPMC, participate in educational sessions, build confidence, and network with nursing leadership. Interns will work at one assigned hospital for the summer, with opportunities to shadow other nursing areas. While SNIs typically follow their preceptor’s schedule, flexibility for non-full-time schedules can be accommodated. Participants can also apply for Graduate Nurse opportunities at UPMC before the program concludes and contribute to patient care and community service.
