About The Position
The Lifeguard helps ensure a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment for Chapman University students, faculty, staff, and guests. Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring pool activities, enforcing safety regulations, responding to emergencies, and providing excellent customer service in support of campus recreation programs.
Requirements
- Current Lifeguarding, CPR / AED , and First Aid certifications.
- Strong swimming abilities and water rescue skills.
- Ability to remain alert, attentive, and professional while on duty.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor pool activities and enforce aquatic facility rules and safety procedures.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to emergencies, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
- Perform water rescues, provide first aid, and administer CPR / AED when necessary.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming pool environment.
- Assist with opening, closing, and general operation of the aquatic facility.
- Provide excellent customer service to all pool patrons.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
