The incumbent of this role is required to translate documents in both official languages (French and English). They must demonstrate advanced communication skills in both languages. Requirements

  • Two-year post-secondary program in an Arts, Literature and/or Communication Program, with Languages Option training
  • Enrolled in a translation program from a Canadian recognized university
  • Completed a minimum of one coop term in a structured translation environment
  • Basic knowledge of and interest in legal matters and financial markets
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English languages
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate with accuracy and appropriate style
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrate Fidelity's values of commitment and partnership.
  • Must be available on a full-time basis for the duration of the co-op term
  • Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.

Nice To Haves

  • knowledge of SDL Trados Studio would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance in translating, editing and proofreading the translation of a variety of documents including, but not limited to, mutual fund regulatory documentation, including financial and legal documentation.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the quality of the French translation meets Fidelity communication standards.
  • Proofread material translated by other translators to ensure quality control as well as Fidelity’s communication standards are met.
  • Coordinate all incoming translation requests according to priorities, to meet deadlines.
  • Negotiate timelines with internal partners and external vendors as required.
  • Input statistics on translation volume in our work management system.
