Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid (MMLA) is seeking a rising 2L or 3L law student to work in our Minneapolis office. The successful candidate will work approximately 15 hours per week. Work will be completed in person at one of our community clinics on Mondays, with a hybrid work model offered for other work hours, allowing for a mix of in-office and remote work. We are hiring for at least the Fall semester, with opportunities to work over winter break and continue through the Spring semester. The position must end by June 30, 2027. The Hub is a collaborative partnership of five immigration legal services providers in Minnesota: The Advocates for Human Rights (AHR), Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM), Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid (MMLA), Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services (SMRLS), and Volunteer Lawyers Network (VLN). Together, these organizations are expanding access to immigration legal services throughout Minnesota through legal access points, education and community outreach, rapid-response triage, and coordinated intake and referral services. The Immigration Law Project provides legal representation to clients in a full range of immigration matters, including removal and deportation defense, adjustment of status, citizenship, and VAWA-based cases, including U and T visas. This position will focus specifically on work completed in collaboration with the Regional Hub for New Americans.
