About The Position

Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid (MMLA) is seeking a law student intern for the fall semester to work with its Immigration Law Project. This is a hybrid position, with most work conducted remotely using MMLA-issued laptops and accounts. In-person work will take place at their downtown Minneapolis office and potentially at community partner locations. This internship offers a valuable opportunity for students to gain practical legal experience while contributing to their communities. MMLA provides comprehensive training and hands-on learning experiences, emphasizing a genuine commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Requirements

Current Law School Year 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls are welcome to apply.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles.
Work, volunteer, or lived experience with diverse economic, social, rural, and/or cultural communities.

Nice To Haves

Interest in the legal subject area of the MMLA unit to which the clerk is applying.
Demonstrated commitment to public interest work.
Fluency in one or more additional languages is highly valued.
