About The Position

MPHI is a Michigan-based and nationally engaged, non-profit public health institute. We are a team of teams, process and content experts, dedicated to building A world where tomorrow is healthier than today! This position is for a Student Intern focused on Housing and Homeless Services, working directly with the PATH grant to ensure appropriate administration and compliance with federal requirements and state standards. The role involves budget development, grantee reporting, training, monitoring, and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Requirements

  • Within one year of completing a bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a graduate program.
  • One year of professional work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong public presentation skills.
  • Strong skills with Office 365 applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the annual release and initiation of contracts to PATH grantees.
  • Completing and submitting the annual PATH performance report to SAMHSA including collecting and reporting on grantee performance.
  • Development of annual budget.
  • Deliver quarterly training on SOAR program for new practitioners.
  • Collaborate with team on ensuring SOAR program outcomes are met and practitioners receive ongoing support and technical assistance.
  • Conduct annual onsite monitoring of PATH grantees and provide written feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on street outreach efforts and coordinate services and best practice sharing.
  • Always represent the best interests of MDHHS and MPHI.
  • All other duties as assigned.
