About The Position

Butler University Camps & Community Programs is hiring energetic, responsible, and student-centered team members for Summer 2026. This general summer employment posting serves as the entry point for multiple camp-based roles across our youth and pre-college programs. Our programs serve a wide range of students—from elementary-age campers to rising high school juniors and seniors—and focus on leadership development, creativity, academic exploration, and community building. Summer staff play a critical role in creating a safe, welcoming, engaging, and growth-oriented environment for all participants. Role placement may involve daytime supervision, overnight residential responsibilities, leadership of small cohorts, logistical support, or team coordination.

Requirements

  • Current Butler student (for Pre-College roles) or approved program staff eligibility
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to working with diverse youth populations
  • Reliability, professionalism, and maturity
  • Completion of required summer trainings

Nice To Haves

  • Living on campus during program weeks
  • Extended daytime hours
  • Supervising off-campus field trips
  • Leading small groups of approximately 8–12 students
  • Supporting medication retrieval or logistics
  • Facilitating team meetings or assisting in staff leadership
  • Additional certifications such as CPR/First Aid
