About The Position

North Central College is hiring Student Gallery Assistants to staff open hours at the Schoenherr Gallery in the Wentz Fine Arts Center, as well as exhibition preparation & execution for two additional gallery venues on campus.

Requirements

• Enrolled as a student at North Central College
• Available a minimum of 10 hours of availability and intend to work for at least 5 each week.
• Available one Saturday a month
• Available for a minimum of one special event per month

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage with gallery patrons, ensuring a positive, accessible experience
• Answer patron questions and share information about current exhibitions
• Monitor gallery space to ensure artwork security
• Support special events and exhibition preparation
• Assist install & deinstall exhibits: loading artwork in and out of campus galleries (Schoenherr, Oesterle, and Meiley-Swallow, as needed), posting marketing information around campus, clerical tasks, gallery maintenance, etc.
• Prepare and support both current & future shows through marketing, social media, research, light maintenance & cleaning duties, etc.
