About The Position

The Student Food Service Worker assists in preparing and serving Denver Public Schools meals in accordance with food and safety standards. Duties include preparing food according to recipes, setting up serving lines, serving meals, cleaning and sanitizing dishes, kitchen areas, and equipment, and operating a cash register. Applicants must be Denver Public Schools students at Contemporary Learning Academy High School and provide one letter of reference from a Dean, Counselor, Teacher, Assistant Principal, or Principal. The role requires basic reading, counting, and simple math skills, commitment to racial and educational excellence and supporting students, a permanent home address in Colorado while working for DPS, and the ability to meet the position’s physical demands with or without accommodations.

Requirements

• Be a Denver Public Schools student at Contemporary Learning Academy High School.
• Provide one letter of reference from a Dean, Counselor, Teacher, Assistant Principal, or Principal.
• Ability to read, count, and perform simple math.
• Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity, while supporting all students so they feel seen and heard and have access to high-quality education.
• Maintain a permanent home address in Colorado while working for DPS.
• Ability, with or without accommodations, to meet the physical demands of the position.
