Roles we have available: Please indicate which position you are interested in on your cover letter: Student, Financial Reporting As a student in Financial Reporting, you will have the opportunity to: Assist with the month-end management reporting process by compiling financial and operation data. Such reports are used by management through the organization and expense report audits Assist with the development of a data governance structure for the FIC finance organization and the documentation of key processes Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly and year-end close by performing critical accounting functions for the FIC and FCAM business units Student, FCC Finance As a student in FCC Finance, you will have the opportunity to: Complete financial analysis on the sales, operations and financial data to understand key variances and trends. Perform post mortem on pricing decisions – review actual vs. forecast for financial performance; provide recommendations on ways to improve pricing decisions Support the analysis of third party depository clearance and settlement costs Assist with the development and testing new finance reporting tools Update documentation for Finance policies and procedures Participate in a number of learning opportunities focusing on the brokerage industry with the purpose of learning about the industry, key trends and the competitive landscape Provide support to finance organizational goals and other ad hoc assignments.

Requirements

  • Working towards a university degree in finance, commerce, business or economics
  • Analytical skills including working knowledge of financial terms and ratios
  • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage projects, juggle multiple priorities and manage deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially PowerPoint and Excel, advanced Excel skills are an asset (i.e. Marcos, VBA coding).
  • Experience with Microsoft Access is an asset
  • Must be in a registered co-op program to be considered for these positions
  • Must also be available on a full-time basis for the duration of the co-op term
  • Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.

Nice To Haves

  • advanced Excel skills are an asset (i.e. Marcos, VBA coding)
  • Experience with Microsoft Access is an asset
