Student Extern RN Telemetry
About The Position
The Student Extern is an adjunct to the patient care team and provides direct patient care under the general supervision of a registered nurse, following established protocols. The extern may perform skills they have successfully completed and passed in the clinical section of a local college nursing program; these skills may be expanded as appropriate. All newly hired externs initially function as nursing assistants, regardless of their clinical level in the nursing program. After clearance by the Supervisor, the extern may move to the appropriate skill level. Requirements
- Successfully completed the first semester of a nursing program.
- Be in good academic standing.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
