Student Extern RN Telemetry
About The Position
The Student Extern is an adjunct to the patient care team and provides direct patient care under the general supervision of an RN. The extern performs at the level of clinical skills successfully completed and passed in a local college program, in accordance with established protocols. The skills the extern may perform can expand as appropriate. All newly hired externs initially function as nursing assistants, regardless of their nursing program clinical level. After clearance by the Supervisor, the student may move to their appropriate skill level. The posting lists the department as the Telemetry Unit and offers day shifts in 12-hour blocks at St Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Requirements
- Successfully completed the first semester of a nursing program.
- Be in good academic standing.
- Hold a current Basic Life Support certification.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification is preferred.
