About The Position

This is a part-time student employee position within the Athletics Department, reporting to Nicholas LoFurno. The role is classified as non-exempt with a minimum pay rate of $15.00 per hour and is eligible for Federal Work-Study. The position involves assisting with the daily operations of the Athletic Department, supporting athletic events, and maintaining athletic facilities. The role requires flexibility in hours, including days, nights, and weekends, and is designed to work around the student's class schedule.

Requirements

Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours in fall/spring semester.
GPA of 2.0 or higher.
High school graduate.
Must be able to run, bend, lift (50 lbs) without any restrictions.
Must have flexible hours (days, nights, and weekends).

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Microsoft computer programs.
Demonstrated multicultural competence.
English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily tasks involved in running the Athletic Department (copies, typing documents).
Assist with set up and take down all home athletic events.
Work admission gate and concession stand for home games.
Do basketball stats for home games.
Volleyball line judges and ball shagging for home games.
Assist with soccer balls during all home games on sidelines.
Clean weight room equipment.
Help move equipment on turf area for rentals (soccer goals, mounds).
Cover external rentals during the week and weekends.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
Perform related duties as assigned.
