About The Position

This is a part-time student employee position within the Athletics Department, reporting to Nicholas LoFurno. The role is classified as non-exempt with a minimum pay rate of $15.00 per hour and is eligible for Federal Work-Study. The position involves assisting with daily departmental tasks, setting up and taking down athletic events, working the admission gate and concession stand, and performing various support roles during home games such as doing basketball stats, acting as volleyball line judge, and assisting with soccer balls. Additional duties include cleaning weight room equipment, moving equipment for rentals, and covering external rentals. The role requires the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships and perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours in fall/spring semester.
GPA of 2.0 or higher.
High school graduate.
Must be able to run, bend, lift (50 lbs) without any restrictions.
Must have flexible hours (days, nights, and weekends).

Responsibilities

Assist with daily tasks involved in running the Athletic Department (copies, typing documents).
Assist with set up and take down all home athletic events.
Work admission gate and concession stand for home games.
Do basketball stats for home games.
Volleyball line judges and ball shagging for home games.
Assist with soccer balls during all home games on sidelines.
Clean weight room equipment.
Help move equipment on turf area for rentals (soccer goals, mounds).
Cover external rentals during the week and weekends.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
Perform related duties as assigned.
