About The Position

Our internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We’ll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment. We are seeking a student to join us for a 4-month co-op position starting in September 2026. This position will be based out of Mississauga, Ontario.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent program
  • Will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship
  • Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently
  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships
  • Exemplify the Ideal Team Player – Hungry, Humble, Smart
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
  • Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries

Responsibilities

  • Support Bird Construction's Projects team
  • Review and analyze coordination models for spatial coordination and quality control
  • Manage the spatial coordination process by holding recurring collaboration meetings with project teams
  • Keep record of the issue resolution process and coordination meetings
  • Ensure project deliverables and information meet Digital Construction Department requirements
  • Provide a communication link between design and construction teams
  • Provide support for laser scanning and model-based field layout
  • Support the use of mobile technology and other Digital Construction applications in the field
  • Support preconstruction activities
  • Assist in the development of hardware and software standards, standards for modeling, and maintaining an element library when required
