The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Student, Credit & Collection. This job is part-time temporary. Credit Department mission is to protect the corporate receivable asset through optimizing the efficiency of Credit Management practices and effectively managing high credit risk/high credit exposure receivables to maximize profitability while minimizing bad debt loss. Reporting to the Manager, Credit, your role will consist of performing risk analysis on new and existing customers to minimize credit risk and exposure by validating strict Credit Department adherence to Domtar’s Credit Policy and Procedure. You will also ensure timely collection of a portfolio to increase accounts receivable percentage current and decrease DSO, resolve complex credit issues with customers and provide quality customer service.

Requirements

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent coupled with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Credit Analysis and Collection.
  • You are familiar with Credit tools (scoring models and financial statement analysis).
  • You have a working knowledge of SAP (FI/CO) and Oracle (JDE)
  • You have a good knowledge of Microsoft office and advanced knowledge of Excel functions.
  • English is mandatory (written and spoken).

  • Being bilingual in both French and English is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage an assigned major account portfolio of $75M+ (for +/- 200 accounts).
  • Establish, maintain, and review accounts files and credit scorings.
  • Maintain detailed on-line documentation of collection action taken and correspondence with stakeholders regarding issues impacting collection.
  • Follow-up on delinquent customer accounts to maintain customer payment habits within our established payment term.
  • Resolve complex collection issues with customers to ensure prompt collection.
  • Liaise with Sales, Customer Service, Sales Accounting to ensure resolution of disputed invoices, deductions, and other items.
  • Ensure integrity of the master data files related to Credit.
  • Troubleshoot problems related to collections, masterdata, deductions and systems whenever they affect credit or collections process.
  • Ensure timely review and release of held orders and advise Sales and customer accordingly.
  • Participate in the different department projects.
  • Establish and maintain efficient work relationship with internal and external customers.
