About The Position

The Carruthers Student Commons is a gathering and work space for students, with dedicated work spaces for Alberta School of Business student groups. The part-time staff are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operation of the student commons. The part-time staff will be responsible for coordinating space booking and access, ensuring the space is well maintained and safe, carrying out tidying duties throughout the space, identifying issues that should be brought to the building manager, and performing opening/closing procedures. The part-time staff will support visitors with the technology as needed. The part-time staff are responsible for maintaining a welcoming environment for visitors, and supporting students with information and their activities. As a key point of contact for students, the part-time staff will have thorough knowledge and understanding of services available for students, including Health and Wellness and advising services. The part-time staff will provide on-site support for events happening in the space.

Requirements

Professional level of written and verbal communication skills

Ability to exercise sound judgement in responding to inquiries and determining when an inquiry should be redirected
