About The Position

This is a fast-paced, 10-day state certified nurse aide training program at NHC HealthCare Columbia. To be considered for the class, applicants must provide a completed application, valid photo identification, and Social Security card at the time of the interview. No absences or tardiness are permitted due to the short duration of the class. Students must maintain a grade average of 85 to continue in the course. A deposit of $40 for books and supplies is required on the first day, which will be returned upon graduation. Students will also need to purchase one set of scrubs to wear daily. A criminal background check and consultation of the Tennessee and/or National Abuse Registry for Children and Adults will be conducted. Individuals with felony convictions, certain misdemeanor charges, or those found on the abuse registry cannot be admitted. Accepted students will receive a phone call on or before the Friday before the class at 10:00 AM. Students are selected based on facility need, shift availability, entrance exam score, flexibility, previous work history, and attitude. Employment opportunities may be available upon successful completion of the course.
