About The Position

The Jack H. Brown College, Dean's Office is seeking a Student Assistant to provide support with various administrative tasks. This role involves organizing data for AACSB accreditation, handling campus deliveries, assisting with reception duties, filing, faxing, copying, mailings, and supporting Dean's office events. Some lifting may be required. Student Assistants will act as the first point of contact for the JHBC Dean’s Office reception desk, communicating with guests via verbal, written, and electronic correspondence. They will also work closely with JHBC departments on student employment procedures, maintain files, and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
  • Ability to read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Admission or registration as a CSU student.
  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate).
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate).
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a Social Security Card.
  • Reside in the State of California.
  • Must complete Sexual Violence Prevention Training within 6 months of assuming employment and on a two-year basis thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the JHBC Dean’s Office reception desk.
  • Communicate with guests via verbal, written, and electronic correspondence (i.e., answering phones, sending emails, greeting clients as they enter the JHBC Dean’s Office, etc.).
  • Work closely and assist JHBC departments concerning student employment procedures.
  • Maintain files (creating, updating and organizing).
  • Assist with clerical functions for the JHBC Dean’s Office (i.e., file paperwork, maintain an organized working environment, etc.).
  • Making deliveries to university departments and programs.
  • Assist with JHBC events.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
