About The Position

Are you looking for an exciting Student opportunity full of meaningful, diverse, and challenging assignments working alongside industry leading professionals? You will be part of a driven, and collaborative team completing important projects while receiving the mentorship, knowledge, and experience to develop the skills you need to build an exciting career. In this role within Asset Integrity, you’ll provide engineering with various quality assurance scopes, analyze in-line inspection data, and participate in threat reviews. You’ll support all ongoing integrity programs (Cathodic Protection, Internal Corrosion, Geotechnical, In-line Inspection and digs, Fatigue management, Facility) within HMGP, and ensure adherence to regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa).
  • Available to begin work in September 2026.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles, with a focus on system design and facility operations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply industry standards and regulations in engineering tasks.
  • Basic skills in managing project tasks, including cost estimation, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Must be enrolled in a Mechanical, Chemical or related Engineering Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.
  • Candidates currently enrolled in either a master’s or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.
  • New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
  • Candidates must have their own means of transportation as there is no public transportation in field locations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance tasks and reconcile data discrepancies
  • Support the update of specifications and standards
  • Assist in the selection of integrity digs
  • Generate and maintain spreadsheets for tracking progress on initiatives and programs
  • Participate in and record activities of meetings with vendor partners and internal meetings
  • Support the completion of technical decision documentation.
  • Conduct technical research
  • Participate in threat reviews, risk assessments and technical presentations
