About The Position

Student Advising Mentors (SAMs) serve as peer mentors for undergraduate students throughout their Berklee experience, providing holistic guidance and support with an academic focus. They offer exceptional, accurate, and timely information on topics such as major declaration, registering for classes through my.berklee and self service, time management, class selection, and general peer mentoring. SAMs are not tutors or academic advisors; they help students find and use those resources. SAMs also act as ambassadors for Student Success Advising. They take prominent roles at Center events and on its social media account, and may design events of their own. The position is a full academic year. SAMs in good standing may work limited summer hours. The average commitment is 7–10 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend shifts and required summer and spring training. The hourly rate is $17.51. Hiring manager: Jeremy Liang.
