About The Position

The Civic Engagement Coordinator is responsible for managing civic engagement programs in the Service, Leadership, and Community Engagement (SLCE) Office. This role will plan, coordinate, and evaluate student-focused programs about the methods and value of civic and community engagement. This position will facilitate the Pokes Vote initiative, the University of Wyoming’s nonpartisan voting program, and work with the SLCE Office team to host additional student programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience related to the duties of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in higher education, student personnel management, public affairs, or a related field.
  • Experience in facilitating student civic engagement programs in a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge of best practices in civic and community engagement, preferably in a higher education setting.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, plans, implements, and evaluates student-focused civic engagement programs, services, and initiatives.
  • Collaborates with departments, committees, and campus partners to enhance program effectiveness and student engagement.
  • Works collaborative with student employee(s) to deliver programs aimed to educate students about the methods and value of civic and community engagement.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and development of Pokes Vote.
  • Designs and executes outreach, marketing, and educational strategies to promote programs and increase participation.
  • Analyzes program data and feedback to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates student employees, interns, or volunteers; provides ongoing guidance and performance feedback.
  • Manages program operations, including scheduling, logistics, and resource coordination.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with relevant external community partners.
  • Assists with budget management, including tracking expenditures and making recommendations for resource allocation.
  • Supports and contributes to SLCE Office programs such as the Big Event and Alternative Breaks as well as broader Student Affairs initiatives and divisional priorities.
  • Participate in committees or working groups.
  • Contribute to development of procedures and best practices.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
