About The Position

General Dynamics NASSCO is seeking 5 Structural Welders (J1-J4) for night shift (3pm-11pm) in Norfolk, Virginia. This role is within the Steel Shop and requires the ability to access all Navy installations and other shipyards by obtaining DBIDS and NAVSEA badges. General Dynamics NASSCO is a proud member of the General Dynamics Marine Systems business unit, involved in ship construction, repair, conversion, and maintenance for commercial and national defense assets.

Requirements

• Must be able to weld using SMAW, GMAW and FCAW welding process.
• Must be able to hook up oxygen acetylene torch.
• Must be able to read weld gauges and able to use hand tools with close supervision.
• Must have knowledge of weld symbols.
• Must know standard item 1689 and the guide lines of 5 S.
• Must be able to go on vessels.
• Must be able to access all Navy installations and other shipyards by obtaining DBIDS and NAVSEA badges.
