About The Position
Pennoni has an immediate opening for structural steel Inspectors to provide filed inspection during the rehabilitation of a bridge in Charleston WV. This position involves inspection of field repairs and coating of superstructure components.
Requirements
- Minimum 4-7 years structural steel inspection experience
- Experience working in the field environments
- Ability to work from manlifts and elevated access platforms.
- Knowledge of AASHTO/AWS D1.5 requirements
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- NDT certifications (UT, MT, RT film interpretation)
- Coating inspection experience (AMPP/NACE/SSPC)
- Bolting inspection experience
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection of structural steel welding, and coatings
- Verify compliance with drawings, WPS/PQRs, and welder certifications
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards, including AASHTO/AWS D1.5 and West Virginia Department of Transportation specifications
- Monitor welding, bolting, and coating
- Witness and document NDT activities
- Identify and report non-conformances
- Prepare detailed daily reports
- Coordinate with field representatives, contractors, and project teams
- Provide updates to clients, and internal project teams
