About The Position

The Structural Safety Engineer (CAE) supports structural analysis and design efforts within Rivian’s engineering team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience with CAE tools and techniques while contributing to vehicle development projects. Working under the guidance of senior safety engineers, the engineer assists with analysis tasks that help ensure the structural integrity and performance of vehicle components. The role may require travel to vehicle and component launch locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in automotive safety or another relevant field.
• Basic understanding of structural analysis principles and CAE software.
• Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills related to automotive structural analysis.
• Ability to follow guidance from senior engineers and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Strong collaboration skills and willingness to engage with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to travel to vehicle and component launch locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural analysis tasks using CAE tools.
• Support development of CAE models and simulations to evaluate structural components.
• Help analyze simulation results and recommend design improvements.
• Contribute to test plan creation and assist with validation of vehicle structures.
• Communicate analysis results to team members and contribute to discussions about structural design solutions.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time, following guidance from senior engineers and collaborating with colleagues.
