About The Position

Lloyd Richards Personnel is seeking experienced Structural Fitters for manufacturing and fabrication partners in the Tulsa area. This role is for skilled trades professionals experienced in precision workmanship, blueprint interpretation, and structural steel fabrication. The Structural Fitter is crucial to the fabrication process, responsible for interpreting drawings, laying out components, fitting materials, and preparing assemblies for welding while upholding high standards of quality, safety, and productivity. Experience fitting structural steel, pressure vessels, platforms, ladders, skids, or other fabricated assemblies is desired for this fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Structural Fitter, Vessel Fitter, Pipe Fitter, Fabricator, or related trade required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and structural prints.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Proficient with tape measures, levels, squares, calipers, and layout tools.
  • Strong math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and production excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience fitting platforms, ladders, skids, supports, tanks, pressure vessels, or heavy structural components.
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes including MIG, FCAW, TIG, or Stick Welding.
  • Structural steel fabrication.
  • Pressure vessel or heat exchanger manufacturing.
  • ASME fabrication environments.
  • Rigging and overhead crane operation.
  • Forklift operation.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Layout, fit, and assemble structural steel components according to engineering drawings and project requirements.
  • Measure, mark, align, and position materials for fabrication and welding operations.
  • Fit structural components including beams, channels, plates, platforms, ladders, skids, supports, and fabricated assemblies.
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances using tape measures, calipers, levels, squares, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, cutting equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Assist welders by preparing and fitting assemblies for final welding operations.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure assemblies meet project specifications and customer requirements.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and material handling devices as required.
  • Maintain production records and complete assigned documentation accurately.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and fabrication procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, welders, and production personnel to meet project schedules and production goals.
