About The Position

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities. IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern in Las Vegas, NV. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of structural systems for buildings and other structures while working alongside experienced engineers and consultants on real project work. In this role, you'll support project documentation, coordination, and job site observations while helping projects stay aligned with budgets, goals, and client expectations. You'll be part of a team serving commercial and institutional clients across Nevada public-sector, education, hospitality, and airport-related work, contributing to sustainable design goals including SE2050.

Requirements

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Strong interest in design consulting
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with structural design portions of projects according to code and IMEG standards.
  • Research project resources.
  • Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files.
  • Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and suppliers.
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
  • Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information.
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
