Entry-Level Structural Bridge Drafter
About The Position
Kleinfelder is seeking an Entry-Level Structural / Bridge Drafter to join their SoCal Bridge Group in San Diego, California. This role involves participating in and contributing to a diverse range of engineering services within a team-oriented environment, providing professional engineering services for structural design projects including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls to public and private clients. The position requires adaptability to a fast-paced environment with multiple ongoing projects and competing priorities. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong desire to learn and grow. This position is available as an in-office or hybrid schedule.
Requirements
- Associates degree in CADD Technology or Drafting
- 2 - 4 years experience in structural design
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microstation
- Experience working with Caltrans is a plus
Responsibilities
- Producing preliminary and final design plans for multiple jurisdictions
- Producing CADD design and detailing of contract drawings using Microstation and or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Creating exhibits to be used at client meetings and interviews
- Reviewing shop drawings, erection procedures and performing construction administration duties
- Reading and interpreting agency standard drawings and specifications
- Preparing documents for federal, state and local permits
