About The Position

The Engineering team has an opening for an Entry Level Structural Engineer. As an Entry Level Structural Engineer at DLR Group you will be responsible for participating in the design process of structural systems for our Renewable Energy division from schematics through construction administration, preparing detailed structural engineering drawings and performing design calculations. As part of our renewable engineering team, you will help design structural systems for renewable energy projects that reduce our planet’s carbon footprint while producing clean renewable energy. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (ABET accredited) in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
  • Previous internship, co-op experience, or full-time position with a consulting engineering or A/E firm.
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
  • Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit Structural) workflow.
  • Interest in renewable energy design, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging stations, solar canopies, microgrids, and specialty energy systems.
  • Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design process of structural systems for our Renewable Energy division from schematics through construction administration.
  • Prepare detailed structural engineering drawings.
  • Perform design calculations.
  • Help design structural systems for renewable energy projects that reduce our planet’s carbon footprint while producing clean renewable energy.
  • Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
  • Develop structural designs from concept through completion of construction.
  • Prepare engineering design calculations and layouts.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
  • Coordinate structural design requirements with other disciplines and project stakeholders of renewable energy projects.
