About The Position

Kleinfelder is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join their SoCal Area team in San Diego, California. This role involves participating in and contributing to a diverse range of engineering services within a team-oriented environment, providing professional engineering services for structural design projects including Buildings, infrastructure, and retaining walls. The position requires developing design calculations, load ratings, and specifications. The work environment is often fast-paced with multiple ongoing projects and deliverables, requiring the ability to manage competing priorities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong desire to learn and grow.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an accredited engineering program
EIT certification or the ability to attain within 6 months of hire
0 - 3 years experience in structural design calculations and detailing or 2 years related experience with a Master’s
Experience in the following software/programs: RISA, SAP, Bluebeam, MathCAD, Excel
Based in or willing to relocate to San Diego County, California

Responsibilities

Performing analysis and design of structures including seismic analysis
Performing spreadsheet calculations using Excel or specific software programs
Reviewing shop drawings and performing construction administration duties
Reading and interpreting agency standard drawings and specifications
Creating technical reports
Preparing technical specifications with assistance from senior level staff
Performing condition assessment site visits with senior level staff to investigate and assess existing aging structures requiring repair and make recommendations
