Get to Know Your Team: UT Health Quitman offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, swing bed care, cardiopulmonary rehab, on-site physician clinics, and a sleep lab.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
  • Registered Nurse with a current license to practice in the State of Texas.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
  • ACLS Required
  • PALS Required
  • The ability to operate critical care equipment (i.e., monitors, pumps, ventilators)
  • Must possess standard critical care skills commensurate with the flight nursing profession.
  • Must become proficient in the operation of VHF and 800 System radio equipment.
  • Must become proficient in the use of the Global Positioning System.
  • The ability to make major and critical decisions in the absence of medical and/or supervisory direction

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Three (3) years of ER experience

Responsibilities

  • Directs and supervises the professional and other staff members assigned to the department.
  • Supports and interprets the mission of the hospital and promotes harmonious relationships among nursing personnel, medical staff, ancillary departments, patients and families.
  • Provides for the delivery of care to a specific group of patients and evaluates the quality of that care in a systematic fashion, in order to improve care.
  • The care is delivered within the framework of hospital philosophy and approved budget, and in concert with other departments and services within and outside of the hospital.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
