As a Stroke Registry Coordinator, you identify patients eligible for inclusion in stroke data registries, collect and validate accurate clinical data, and ensure its submission while analyzing related data and reports. You also will collaborate with the Stroke Program Manager to identify opportunities for program improvement. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. No weekends

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Three years of experience in an acute care setting
  • Demonstrated competency in the use of computer applications (Microsoft Office), statistical programs and clinical and administrative databases

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Previous Primary Stroke Center or program management experience

Responsibilities

  • Identify patients for inclusion in Data Registries through the application of strict inclusion/exclusion criteria and protocols.
  • Analyze the data and reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with clinical departments/units on performance improvement initiatives.
  • Work with Stroke Program Manager to implement inpatient and outpatient stroke related performance improvement plans and processes, and coordinates efforts across participating departments/institutes.
  • Support program development, internal and external outreach activities and education needs.
  • Form teams and ensures all appropriate clinical areas are represented.
  • Coordinate team meetings, prepare and maintain documentation, facilitate teams by using appropriate performance improvement methodology.
  • Assist with annual accreditation preparation, presentation, and response processes.
  • Utilize current knowledge of Joint Commission disease specific certification and other regulatory agency standards.
