About The Position

The Stress Technician administers stress tests to patients to assess cardiovascular health under the direction of a physician. The role prepares patients for testing, applies monitoring devices, performs exercise or pharmacological stress tests, monitors patients for complications, documents and communicates test results, maintains equipment, assists with scheduling cardiology procedures, and participates in quality assurance and improvement programs. This is a per diem, onsite position at 541 Main Street, with a day shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One to two years of experience in or specialized training in stress testing and cardiovascular health.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work well under pressure.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for stress tests by explaining the procedure and answering questions.
Apply electrodes and other monitoring devices to measure heart rate, blood pressure, and other vital signs.
Administer exercise or pharmacological stress tests to evaluate cardiovascular health.
Monitor patients during stress tests and respond to issues or complications.
Document stress test results and communicate them to the supervising physician.
Maintain equipment and ensure it is functioning properly.
Assist with scheduling stress tests and other cardiology procedures.
Participate in quality assurance and improvement programs.
