About The Position

Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope. Makes technical decisions and recommendations that have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. Applies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge. Leads the development of innovative principles and ideas. Acts independently to determine improved methods and procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements. Works under consultative direction using independent judgment to accomplish objectives. Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Conceives and plans investigation of broad areas for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program. Applies stress analysis on aircraft primary structures using FEM and classical hand analysis methods. Performs fatigue analysis on aircraft structures for structural integrity validation.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 13 years in specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience credit for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in stress analysis on aircraft primary structures.
  • Experience in fatigue analysis on aircraft structures.
  • Experience with Finite Element Modeling (FEM) for structural analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • CATIA V5 experience for 3D modeling and design.
  • Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
  • Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum.
