About The Position

The MRB Engineer is responsible for leading the end-to-end management of all nonconforming materials, from initial identification and investigation through disposition, repair/rework, and final acceptance. The role ensures that MRB activities are properly documented, traceable, and compliant with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.

Requirements

  • Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D (minimum) with 6+ years of relevant experience in aerospace manufacturing, or quality in lieu of advanced degree.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, organizing, and executing all activities related to the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
  • Ensuring all MRB dispositions (use-as-is, rework, repair, scrap) are properly documented, approved by authorized personnel, and compliant with internal procedures and customer/industry requirements.
  • Partnering with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Production to support investigations, determine root causes, and help drive corrective and preventive actions for recurring or systemic nonconformances.
  • Tracking, monitoring, and reporting MRB metrics, including volume, financial impact, historical trends, closure rates, and disposition cycle time; identifying and escalating risks or patterns requiring further review.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives related to control of nonconforming product, containment processes, documentation flow, and cross-departmental communication.
  • Maintaining full traceability of reworked or repaired materials from identification through final acceptance, ensuring proper documentation is captured at every stage.
  • Collaborating with Supply Chain teams to communicate supplier-related nonconformances, initiate and track return-to-vendor (RTV) actions, and ensure timely supplier responses when applicable.
  • Providing original content with respect to repair development activities that demands a higher level of process knowledge. Many of these repairs will involve “additive” processes such as plating, welding, coating along with complimentary NDT and heat treatments.
  • Authoring Concession Notifications of Non-conforming Product in Customer Portals.
  • Performing other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required.
